Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the Steel Hearts Foundation website (steel-hearts.org), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Steel Hearts Foundation reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Who We Are
Steel Hearts Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 47-2511085) dedicated to honoring fallen military service members through memorial bracelets, dedicated memorial pages, family outreach, and remembrance work.
Use of the Site
You may use this site for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:
- Use the site in any way that violates applicable federal, state, or local law.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the site or its systems.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to harvest content or data from the site.
- Post or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or otherwise objectionable.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when submitting tribute messages or commission requests.
- Use memorial content for commercial purposes without written authorization from Steel Hearts Foundation.
Memorial Content
The memorial pages on this site honor real people who gave their lives in service. This content is maintained with the utmost care and respect. By using this site:
- You acknowledge that memorial content is provided for remembrance and educational purposes.
- You agree not to reproduce, modify, or redistribute memorial content without authorization.
- You understand that portrait photographs and biographical content belong to their respective owners and are used here under good-faith memorial purpose.
Tribute Messages
When you submit a tribute message through the site:
- Your message will be reviewed by Steel Hearts Foundation before it is shared with a family or designated contact.
- We reserve the right to decline messages that are inappropriate, disrespectful, or otherwise inconsistent with our mission.
- The required private-sharing consent permits Steel Hearts to store, review, and share the message privately with the family or designated contact.
- Public display requires a separate optional consent and review. Private-sharing consent alone never authorizes publication.
Purchases and Donations
All purchases and donations are processed securely through Stripe. By completing a transaction:
- You represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.
- Prices, shipping, taxes, and any optional additional donation are shown separately before payment.
- An order confirmation acknowledges receipt of your order. We may cancel and refund an order we cannot fulfill or that contains a material catalog or pricing error.
- Memorial bracelet purchases are subject to our Shipping & Returns Policy.
- Separate donations may be deductible to the extent permitted by law. Your receipt identifies any goods or services and the relevant amounts. Consult your tax adviser about your circumstances. EIN: 47-2511085.
- We do not store payment card numbers. All payment data is handled by Stripe (PCI-compliant).
Commission Requests
Submitting a commission request does not guarantee that a bracelet will be created. Steel Hearts Foundation reviews all requests and may contact the hero's family before proceeding. We reserve the right to decline any commission request that does not meet our mission criteria.
Intellectual Property
The Steel Hearts Foundation name, logo, and site design are the property of Steel Hearts Foundation. You may not use our name, logo, or trademarks without written permission. Memorial page content is provided for personal, non-commercial use only.
Disclaimer of Warranties
This site is provided on an “as is” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Steel Hearts Foundation does not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Steel Hearts Foundation shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or any products or services obtained through the site.
