Age 26, stationed at Naval Station Mayport, FL, formerly of Emsworth, on Friday, September 7, 2007.
PO2 Robert N. Gilbertson, beloved son of David Gilbertson and his companion Wendy Pierson of Saxonburg; and Nancy L. Hoffman (David) of New Sewickley, Twp.; loving Brother of Dana L. Tabay (Joseph) and David "Bo" Gilbertson, both of New Sewickley, Twp.; grandson of the late Frithjof and Dolores Gilbertson and Dorothy B. and the late Robert K. Hoover; also survived by one niece; Madeline; many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bobby will be sadly missed by his loyal crew and shipmates on the USS McInerney (FFG-8). A dedicated fan of Americas favorite pass time, Bobby was the catcher and team captain for the Avonworth Antelopes Baseball team. He had continued that passion at Community College of Allegheny County, South; playing in the College Junior World Series.
Proceeds from the PO2 Robert N Gilbertson bracelet will be donated to Legacies Alive.
