Michael E. Altman, CFD, age 32, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Mickey was a devoted husband to Nora (nee Fiorella) and a proud and loving father to Theodore and Baby Girl Altman. He was the beloved son of Mark and Mary Altman, and dear brother to Marki and Sara (Thomas) McIntyre. He was a treasured son-in-law to Steven “Jocko” and Linda Fiorella, and caring brother-in-law of Natalie, Andrew, Michael (Courtney), and Steven (Katie) Fiorella. Mickey was also a loving uncle, cousin and friend to many, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. Mickey had a passion for life and the people around him. He found joy in his jiu-jitsu training, playing 16” softball in the summer, and spending time on the golf course. Above all, he was deeply committed to his family and his service to others. Mickey proudly served as a Chicago Firefighter for two years and was a dedicated member of Local 597 for eight years. His courage, loyalty, and commitment to his community will never be forgotten.

Proceeds from the sale of each Firefighter Altman memorial bracelet will be donated to the EMWQ Chicago Widowers.
