CPT David M. Fraser (USMA '04)
Captain David Michael Fraser, 25, of Houston, TX died November 26 of injuries caused by an improvised explosive device in Baghdad, Iraq.
CPT Fraser graduated with honors from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 2004, where he was the top student in the school of civil engineering. CPT Fraser served as part of the 3rd Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 4th Brigade, 4th Infantry Division. During his Army career, CPT Fraser completed Airborne Air Assault and Ranger training.
CPT Fraser deployed to Iraq in December 2005 and was scheduled to return to Fort Hood, Texas in early December 2006. While in Iraq, CPT Fraser led a combat engineering platoon assigned the task of searching for and disabling mines and other hazards on Baghdad roads and highways.
Prior to that, he commanded an infantry platoon and a rapid response unit established to quickly reinforce coalition forces under enemy fire. CPT Frasier was an exemplary office who was like and respected by the soldiers with whom he served. The challenging missions he was assigned during his tour in Iraq are a reflection of his ability as a leader and the confidence other had in him.
Proceeds from the CPT David M. Fraser bracelet will be donated to the Fisher House Foundation in his memory.
