Capt John A. Robertson (USAFA '19)

from $35.00

Captain John Allan Robertson tragically passed away on May 14, 2024 while serving as a USAF instructor pilot at Sheppard AFB, TX. His legacy lives on through his parents Steve and Michelle, his siblings Patrick, Sasha, and Catherine, his extended family, and the countless friends and pilots who loved him.

John was born in Goldsboro, NC on October 31st, 1996. From day one, John dreamed of following in his dad’s footsteps as a USAF fighter pilot. Recognizing the challenge to achieve this goal, John excelled in school and sports, and joined Civil Air Patrol, an auxiliary for the US Air Force. While a cadet in Civil Air Patrol John attended Honor Guard Academy, earned his glider and pilot’s licenses (before he could drive!), and received the distinguished General Carl A. Spaatz Award.

John was accepted into the United States Air Force Academy as part of the Class of 2019, where he was a member of Squadrons 1 (Mighty Mach One) and 26 (Barons), the USAFA Drum & Bugle Team, and the USAFA Flying Team. John graduated from USAFA on May 30th, 2019 with a Bachelors of Science in Military Strategic Studies. John spent a year at Seymour-Johnson AFB, NC as a Munitions Maintenance Officer before attending the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program at Sheppard AFB, TX. John graduated from ENJJPT with class 22-02 and was assigned to the 80th Flying Training Wing as a First Assignment Instructor Pilot on the T-6A Texan II. John spent 1.5 years in the FAIP Mafia training pilot candidates on the T-6. While at Sheppard AFB, John was also heavily involved with his church community and volunteered as a Civil Air Patrol senior member with the Rio del Fierro Composite Squadron.

John was a truly special man whose kindness, humor, and integrity were bedrocks for our family. His passion for his craft as an aviator was second only to his love for God, which is evident in the impact he has had on all who knew him. Our family, his friends, and fellow pilots miss him deeply, and are inspired by his legacy to maximize every day for others.

For each bracelet sold, $10 will be donated to Civil Air Patrol Rio Del Fierro Composite Squadron (TX430) in John’s name. Here’s a toast.

Line 2: May 14th, 2024 - 89th FTS
