1LT Robert Depompa was a native of California and later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. He held a Bachelors of Arts in Economics from the University of Southern California.
Prior to commissioning, 1LT Depompa enlisted as a 12N, Horizontal Construction Engineer, and graduated One Station Unit Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, in 2019. 1LT Depompa then earned his commission through ROTC from the University of Southern California in 2022.
1LT Depompa commissioned as an Air Defense Artillery Officer and graduated Basic Officer Leaders Course at Fort Sill, Oklahoma in June 2023. He served as a Launcher Platoon Leader for Delta Battery, 2nd Battalion, 1st Air Defense Artillery Regiment at Camp Carroll, Republic of Korea from June 2023 to April 2025. 1LT Depompa then began his final assignment as the Executive Officer for Charlie Battery, 2nd Battalion, 1st Air Defense Artillery Regiment, forward deployed in Bahrain.
1LT Depompa is survived by his mother, Jennifer, father, David, and brother, 1LT Eric Depompa.
